Canon announced that it plans on releasing new firmware that will enable the Canon 5D Mark II to shoot at 24 and 25 frames per second in 1080p. Currently they are only able to do 20fps which is very jittery. The update should be available early 2010.

Finally Pwnage finally cracked the iphone 3.1.2 software

I first jail broke my phone back when the 3.0 software was the newest out. I loved the iPhone 1000x more after it was free to actually be used to its full potential. It’s unbelievable how apple and AT&T can restrict the customizable functions you get with the phone “jail-broken.” For example, if you have a iPhone you probably have a few pages of apps. Right now the only way you can organize apps is by moving them from page to page. With the “jail-broken” iPhone however, you can download a program that allows you to organize the apps and put them in folders. I went from 5 pages of apps down to 1 with this program alone. If I want to play a game, I click the “game” icon and all my games are pulled up. You would think that something this simple, but so useful, would be pre-installed on the iPhone. Another feature I like that has nothing to do with functionality is the ability to apply themes to your phone, there are hundreds of ways to customize the look of you iPhone when its “jail-broken”. You can do anything from picking your favorite sports team theme to Super Mario Brothers. It also allows you to have a background picture display behind the pages of apps instead of a blank black background. I know apple brags about being the “hip” choice because of the many customizable features of the mac computers, I can’t see why they wouldn’t transfer that ability to the phones as well. Anyway, I’m done venting my frustrations but if anyone is interested in “jail-breaking” their iPhones, here is the link to the step-by-step guide. It literally takes 5 minutes to do and is completely reversible when done correctly.
